Where Do I Sign up for a Siargao Island Tour?
While walking around General Luna, the town where most visitors stay, you will see almost every place advertising island hopping tours. Most tours include stops to Naked Island, Daku Island and Guyam Island. However, you can also choose to add Corregidor Island if you’re interested.
As well almost all hotels and hostels are able to arrange island tours. We even saw it advertised at the Taqueria where we ate our first night! There is really no wrong way to do it. In general we found it less organized than island tours in places like El Nido but not in a bad way. You can easily sign up for an island tour the day before or the morning of!
We would recommend instead to go to the Water Activities building on the dock in General Luna. When you walk in you can hire a boatman for the day to take you to the 3 islands. You don’t need to sign up for this ahead of time. Simply show up to the building the morning of and you’ll get on a boat.
We walked in around 8:30 AM and immediately we were able to get a boat. The fees for the tour were outlined and then we filled out our information. The information was passed along to the Coast Guard (necessary for all boats leaving General Luna) and then we got on to leave!
- We were instructed not to pay our boatman until the end of the day when we got back to General Luna.
There is a chance of the island tours being cancelled due to rough seas and high winds. The first day we tried the coast guard was not allowing any boats to leave Siargao because of the conditions. We were told that it happens a lot from General Luna when the ocean is too rough or the winds are too strong. So don’t wait to do a Siargao island tour on your last day just in case!

How Much Does a Siargao 3 Island Tour Cost?
A boat for 1-4 people costs 1,500 PHP or $30 USD to be split between the number of people. So for us two it cost $15 USD each which is so inexpensive! If you are a group of 4 it would be even cheaper!
- It meant we had a private boat to ourselves which we definitely did not expect! It was so nice though! The schedule of the entire day was up to us. We got to each island, spent however much time we wanted and then when we were ready we made our way back to the boat. The driver of our boat would be waiting and we would continue on to the next island!
If you’re traveling in a larger group or if you just want more of a group feel there are also boats fit for larger groups. More people on the boat also means it usually costs even less per person so that’s another way to make it even more affordable.
- A tour with lunch included will make the price slightly higher. But it’s really not necessary as you can buy a delicious lunch on Daku Island yourself.
There is also a 100 PHP ($2 USD) environmental fee that is paid in the building in General Luna before getting on the boat. In addition there is a 50 PHP ($1 USD) fee per person to enter Daku island and a 30 PHP ($0.60 USD) fee per person to enter Guyam island.

Naked Island
Your first stop will be Naked Island. Naked island is just as the name suggests naked of anything except sand. It is essentially just a sandbar in the middle of bright teal waters! It takes about 30 minutes to reach from Siargao. Because it’s the smallest island of the three, it can get pretty crowded as more and more boats come in.
- The earlier in the morning you leave Siargao the better. We wouldn’t recommend waiting until 10 or 11 AM because then more people will already be at the islands.
- When we arrived at Naked Island at 9 AM there were a few other boats but by the time we left around 10 AM it was significantly more crowded!

Daku Island
The next stop is Daku Island. Daku Island is the largest and most built up of the 3 islands. It was also the island that we spent the most time at.
- There is a fee of 50 PHP per person ($1 USD) to enter Daku Island. Your boatman will instruct you how to pay it. We even got a receipt for paying but were never asked to show it to anyone.
There is a large sandy beach area which has a roped off swimming area. The water was so clear and refreshing you have to jump in! We spent a few hours moving our towels back and forth from the sun to the shade of a nearby coconut tree.
If you do want lunch you can get a really impressive spread on Daku Island. They cook up large lunches including seafood, meats, rice and fresh fruits. We saw quite a few of them and it all looked so delicious!
- You can rent a cabana on the beach as well if you have a large group. We saw ones for rent for as little as 300 PHP or $6 USD.
- If your tour includes lunch it will most likely be on Daku Island served in one of the beachfront cabanas.
Walk away from the boats around the curve of the coastline to where the palm trees meet the water. We found there were almost no people over there and it is so beautiful! You can take some really beautiful pictures of the palm trees, clear water and surrounding boats.
- There are two drink stands over there too if you’re looking for a quiet place to get something cold to drink!
We ended up spending about 4 hours on Daku Island and honestly we could have spent an entire day there. It is such a beautiful island and we were so glad not to be rushed to leave quickly!

Guyam Island
The last stop of the day is to Guyam Island which is close to the coast of Siargao making it a quick ride back when you’re done.
Guyam island is a small island that is taken care of by a local family. There is a large sandy beach area where your boat will pull up. Around the side there are a bunch of hammocks in the shade if you’ve had too much sun. If you can snag one this would be such a good spot to take a little afternoon nap!
If you keep walking around the perimeter of the island there is another sandy area on the back side. We visited during low tide where small rock pools formed. You can also find a small shop on Guyam where you can get something to eat and drink.
From Guyam island back to Siargao takes no more than 15 minutes. Then make sure to pay your boatman and make sure you have all your stuff before leaving the boat!

Things to Bring on a Siargao 3 Island Tour
We got on our boat around 8:30 AM and returned to Siargao around 4:30 PM so it’s a full day! Here are a few things you want to make sure to bring with you so you’re prepared!
Dry bag
You can literally buy these anywhere in General Luna. We actually saw them sold on all the islands we visited in the Philippines. For a 10 liter bag it cost us 350 PHP or $7 USD. We just kind of trusted that it worked which ended up being true! But we’re not sure how long it would last if we kept using it a lot.
- This waterproof bag has thousands of reviews and seems to be waterproof but also affordable. If you plan to carry expensive equipment in it you might want to be completely sure its waterproof and bring one from home! If we were to do it again we would get one this like beforehand! Even though our dry bag worked out, it is cheaper to buy a high quality dry bag than it is to replace expensive camera equipment.
Sunscreen
There is literally nothing on Naked Island so you definitely want some sunscreen for that first spot. We like this one because you don’t immediately sweat it off when you get in the sun.
- We always bring sunscreen in this reusable container so whenever we run out we can easily refill it!
Towels
We love our microfiber towels because they dry so incredibly quick! We never have to worry about laying them out for hours which is so nice especially when moving around a lot!
Water Bottle
You can buy water on Daku Island but there are no facilities on Naked Island and by the time we got to Guyam Island there were no food or drink options. Because you’re out in the sun all day you definitely want to make sure to bring some water. I prefer this water bottle because its easy to drink while you’re walking or doing something else but Dave prefers this Nalgene one because it’s larger.

Travel Truth: One thing that is really nice about the Philippines is almost all hotel and hostels provide free filtered drinking water. Places get deliveries of large water jugs and it is usually free with your stay. We also saw quite a few restaurants that had a self service water station with the same water jugs. It was really nice to know it was filtered as well as free!
We are so glad we did a Siargao 3 island tour because we saw so many beautiful places while still not spending too much money! Hopefully this post convinces you to do it and know exactly what to expect!
