We're Nicki and Dave, a US couple that traded in our 9-5 jobs for a life of travel and choosing exactly how we want to live!
After graduating from college we moved into Philadelphia and started working full time. We were always looking to break up the monotony of our normal lives so we started taking trips any time we could. We quickly realized that every time we went on a trip we would come back and immediately start planning the next one. Not wanting to wait a year until the next vacation, we began dreaming of a time when we could travel for longer.
After a lot of preparation, we set off on a trip around the world in July 2019! We backpacked around the world for 9 months spending time in South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.
Then in the beginning of 2020 the pandemic brought us home early. A few months later we bought a Ford Transit van and converted it into our home on wheels! We are currently traveling around the US in our van taking pictures and exploring our own backyard!
Our goal for Truth of Traveling is to help make travel seem a little less overwhelming. It's definitely not always glamorous but it can be so rewarding! Here you will find travel guides and itineraries for all the places we visit! We always share how to travel on a budget and travel tips for making things go a little smoother!
